If your tooth hurts, we will do a thorough exam, take needed x-rays and do a series of careful tests to diagnose your problem.  Treatment always starts with a correct diagnosis.  Tests will include discussing the history of your tooth, gentle tapping, bite testing on isolated tooth cusps and possibly gentle testing with cold, heat or sugar.
